Chapter 458: Too easy
Chapter 458: Too easy
Amon continued moving toward the eastern edge of Elarith City.
The lively sounds of the city slowly faded behind him while the number of people around gradually decreased. The stone roads eventually turned rougher and quieter as fewer lamps illuminated the surroundings.
Soon, he finally stepped beyond the outer walls of the city. In front of him spread a familiar forest beneath the moonlight.
The Whispering Woods.
Tall green trees stretched endlessly ahead while cold night wind moved through the forest slowly, causing leaves and branches to sway softly while faint rustling sounds echoed everywhere.
Silver moonlight poured down from the night sky and illuminated parts of the forest beautifully.
Amon quietly stared ahead for a moment.
Then he let out a small laugh.
"Hah... I spent so many months in a place surrounded by trees."
Compared to that cursed island. This forest honestly felt peaceful. The only major difference was that the trees here were green and alive instead of dark, twisted, and lifeless.
Still a forest at night remained dangerous no matter where it was.
A slow grin appeared on Amon’s face.
Then he stepped inside.
The moment Amon entered the Whispering Woods, his body immediately accelerated.
WHOOSH!
He shot through the forest with incredible speed while weaving between trees effortlessly
Mana covered his legs, strengthening them. Which helped him to increase his speed.
The cool wind struck against his face while his black hair fluttered behind him continuously.
At the same time. A black sword appeared inside his right hand from spatial storage.
Dark mana quietly flowed around the blade.
Amon’s sharp eyes wandered through the surroundings carefully while searching for monsters.
The deeper he moved. The quieter the forest became. Only the sound of wind and moving leaves echoed around him.
After running for over ten minutes. Amon finally sensed movement nearby.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
Several small figures moved between trees ahead.
Six ugly green creatures stepped into view.
Goblins.
The most common low-rank monsters inside the Whispering Woods.
Amon remembered last year. When he was struggling to kill goblins. He had to fight them carefully.
But now he was not the same.
Each goblin carried crude weapons while growling among themselves stupidly.
They were no threat to Amon anymore. Not even close. He didn’t even slow down.
Dark shadows immediately covered his sword.
Before the goblins could properly react. A black blur flashed across the forest.
SWISH!
A dark trail remained briefly behind Amon as he crossed past them at terrifying speed.
For a second everything became silent.
But not for too long.
THUD
THUD
THUD
All six goblin heads fell to the ground one after another.
Blood sprayed across the forest floor while their headless bodies collapsed lifelessly.
Amon didn’t even glance backward.
He simply continued running deeper into the forest calmly.
Honestly to him, killing Rank 1 monsters now felt almost effortless.
His speed, strength, and mana had increased tremendously after reaching Master Rank.
The difference was overwhelming.
Amon continued moving deeper through the forest while observing his surroundings carefully.
Most monsters here remained weak.
Rank 1 at best.
Though occasionally. He could sense stronger mana deeper inside the forest.
After several more minutes. Amon suddenly stopped atop a thick tree branch silently.
Below him a group of wolf-type monsters wandered through the forest.
Their bodies were enormous. Almost as large as bears.
Gray fur covered their muscular bodies while glowing red eyes scanned the surroundings viciously.
Sharp fangs protruded from their mouths while growls echoed softly around them.
There were seven in total.
Amon smirked immediately. "Finally something slightly better."
They were rank two monsters.
The wolves suddenly sensed him. All seven heads snapped upward instantly.
Growls filled the forest.
"""Growwwwlll!!"""
One of the wolves roared loudly before kicking off the ground toward him aggressively.
But Amon moved first. He kicked of the ground pushing himself toward the monsters.
BOOM!
The tree branch beneath him cracked apart as he launched himself downward at incredible speed.
Mana strengthened every muscle inside his body.
At the same time. His left hand shot forward. Dark mana rapidly gathered above his palm. Several black rings formed instantly while void-like symbols rotated around them.
The wolves sensed danger immediately.
But too late.
A black sphere condensed above Amon’s hand.
[Devouring Sphere]
The nearby mana visibly started getting pulled toward the orb violently.
The wolves hesitated slightly.
Then Amon slammed the spell downward toward the center of the pack.
BOOOOOOM!!
A massive explosion of darkness erupted across the forest.
The ground shattered violently while black shockwaves spread everywhere.
Several trees nearby trembled heavily.
One wolf was instantly blown apart by the explosion. Another was crushed against a tree with broken bones.
Dark mana spread across the impact zone while black smoke filled the surroundings.
Amon landed smoothly amidst the chaos.
A grin appeared on his face.
"This spell really is useful."
But the battle wasn’t over yet.
Three wolves immediately charged toward him from different directions while growling furiously.
Amon calmly swung his sword.
SWISH!
Darkness mana burst from the blade. The first wolf lost its head instantly.
Before the corpse even hit the ground. Amon twisted his body sideways. A massive claw passed inches from his face.
Then his sword pierced straight through the second wolf’s skull. An easy kill.
CRACK.
Blood sprayed outward.
The monster collapsed immediately. The remaining wolves roared in rage before surrounding him together.
One lunged toward his back. Another aimed for his throat. Amon’s eyes sharpened coldly while looking at them.
Dark shadows exploded around his body.
He tried half learned third Form of his sword art.
He still haven’t learn it completely. But it was worth using it here.
WHOOSH!
His body spun rapidly like a black storm amidst the wolves. While spinning he continuously slashed at monsters, attacks filled with darkness.
Dark slashes flashed everywhere.
The surrounding air itself distorted from the speed of his attacks. The wolves couldn’t even properly react.
One lost its front legs instantly. Another was sliced apart across the chest. The final wolf tried to escape after sensing overwhelming danger.
But Amon appeared directly before it like a dark phantom.
The wolf’s glowing red eyes widened.
Then.
SWISH!
Its body split cleanly into two halves.
Silence returned to the forest.
Blood covered the ground while broken monster corpses lay scattered everywhere.
Amon slowly stood amidst the battlefield while darkness mana faded around his sword gradually.
The cool night wind moved through the trees softly once again.
Amon looked around calmly.
Not even a single wound remained on him.
"..well...that was easy."
Even this wasn’t enough. He wanted stronger enemies. Much stronger ones.
A grin slowly appeared on his face again.
Then Amon continued moving deeper into the Whispering Woods beneath the moonlit sky.
’Let’s go more deep and try to find stronger ones.’
